Pub and brewery news
  • SW1, WESTMINSTER ARMS (Shepherd Neame), 9-10 Storey's Gate, SW1P 3AT. Refurbished March 2025 at a cost of over £1m. Now open. The refurb included an all-electric and expanded kitchen; and the outside is now in a "Westminster Plum" colour.

  • SW1, WHITE FERRY HOUSE (Stonegate/PubLove), 1a Sutherland Street, SW1V 4LD.No longer Cask Marque accredited.

  • SW5, BLACKBIRD (Fuller's), 209 Earls Court Road, SW5 9AN. Now offers CAMRA members 10% discount off real ales.

  • SW6, KING'S HOUSE (Wellington/ City Pub Company), 541 Kings Road, SW6 2EB. Having been closed for over a year, this venue reopened in March 2025. It has been co-founded by five well-known cricket names plus rugby star Jamie George. The pub has been re-named the BOUNDARY as it is the first building on the Fulham side of Stanley Bridge, the borough border with Chelsea. The pub is on two floors, with a dining area/function room on the first floor; and there is a large garden at the back. Food will major on pizzas.

  • SW6, MCGETTIGAN'S (HPUT A Ltd/Stonegate/independent), 1 The Broadway, SW6 1AA. Already reported closed, now listed on Stonegate website as a fixed term tenancy.

  • W1, BE AT ONE, 17 Greek Street, W1D 4DR. Opened by 2015 in former nightclub premises. Part of the national chain, and now in conformance with CAMRAs definition of a pub. No cask ale.

  • W1, BLIND PIG, 8-10 Pollen Street, W1S 1NQ. Closed to reopen as Motcombs Tavern around 17 June 2025.

  • W1, BLUE POSTS (Greene King/unknown/Greene King), 18 Kingly Street, W1B 5PX. Closed for refurbishment.

  • W1, COYOTE UGLY SALOON (//), 30 Shaftesbury Avenue, W1D 7EP Part of the international chain, with several sites now in Britain. "The most famous bar on the planet. Period." The first bar opened in New York in 1994 and the brand is owned by The Walt Disney Company. Various keg beers are available within the drinks menu; food options veer towards burgers and pizzas. Tickets would be needed for the entertainment offered. The venue has a rare Westminster 3am alcohol licence.

  • W1, HARCOURT (Harcourt Pub Limited), 32 Harcourt Street, W1H 4HX. Already reported closed. Freehold sold to Hillolim Marylebone Ltd March 2025. Future still uncertain.

  • W1, MASONS ARMS (Greene King/unknown/Greene King), 38 Maddox Street, W1S 1PY. CAMRA member refused discount - to be re-checked.

  • W1, THREE SHEETS (//), 13 Manette Street, W1D 4AP. Opened in March 2024 as the sister bar to the one in Dalston. Mainly a cocktail bar and restaurant. Beer & Cider is available although it may only be in bottles.

  • W1, TWO FLOORS (Shaftesbury/Barworks), 2-4 Kingly Street, W1B 5PD. Reopened – still no real ale.

  • W2, DUKE OF KENDAL (Connaught Pubs Ltd), 38 Connaught Street, W2 2AF. No longer Cask Marque accredited.

  • W2, MITRE (Young's/unknown/Young's), 24 Craven Terrace, W2 3QH. Refurbished March 2025.

  • W6, CROSS KEYS (Fullers tenanted), 57 Black Lion Lane, W6 9BG. CAMRA discount 10% off cask ale confirmed by manager Mar 2025

  • W8, PASSYUNK AVENUE (//), 16 Kensington Church Street, W8 4EP. Latest London outlet for the Philadelphia-themed food and drinks venue. A range of draught beers is available from the bar and if you only want a drink you must sit in the bar area.

  • W8, UXBRIDGE ARMS (Dorset Council/Stonegate), 13 Uxbridge Street, W8 7TQ. Cask Marque re-accredited

  • W10, BERTIE BLOSSOMS, 323 Portobello Road, W10 5SY. Reopened after extended temporary closure.

  • W10, EAGLE (Stonegate/The Chapter Collection), 250 Ladbroke Grove, W10 5LP. No longer Cask Marque accredited.

  • W14, BEACONSFIELD, 24 Blythe Road, W14 0HA. Self-declared by landlord closed in mid-April 2025, "following an incredibly tough three year struggle". Lease on the market.

  • W14, ELM (RedCat Taverns Ltd/individual/Yellow Panda Pub Co), 206 North End Road, W14 9NX. Freehold bought by Lombard Asset Pub Portfolio London Ltd.

  • W14, OLD OAK (Redcat), 180 North End Road, W14 9NX. Sold to The Old Oak Kensington Ltd. Planning application 2024/02787/FUL submitted 1/11/24 | Replacement of the existing roof with two new additional floors at roof level to form second and third floor levels including rear extensions at first floor level; formation of roof terraces at first, second and third floor levels; installation of a new door to replace the existing window at first floor level to southern elevation of the building; infilling of the existing windows and door to western elevation and infilling of the existing window to southern elevation of the building at ground floor level in connection with the formation of bin and cycle storage; installation of two new doors to western elevation boundary wall; installation of a new residential entrance door opening to northern elevation of the building at ground floor level; change of use of rear part of ground floor level (northern side of building to provide access to upper floor residential units), change of use and conversion of the first, second and third floor levels from pub (Class Sui Generis) into 5no self-contained flats (Class C3) comprising of 2 x studio and 3 x 2 bedroom flats. Still pending 1/5/25.

  • WC2, LARRY'S, National Portrait Gallery, St. Martin's Place, WC2H 0HE. This is a cafe / cocktail bar in the newly-restored vaults of the Gallery, named after the legendary thespian Sir Laurence Olivier, aka Larry to the luvvies. The vaults were originally built as coal storage in 1896. The venue is operated by the Daisy Green chain and offers lunch, afternoon tea, evening plates, cocktails, and jazz! Now in conformance with CAMRAs definition of a pub.
